TKC 3 – 1987-10-11
Welcome to this continuation of our sermon series. Today, we delve into a profound topic: the Bible’s secret to eternal life. This message reveals how the human body can overcome death.
Many interpretations of the Bible exist today. However, accurate understanding requires receiving the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 34:16 states, “Look in the scroll of the LORD and read: None of these will be missing, not one will lack her mate. For it is his mouth that has given the order, and his Spirit will gather them together.”
Therefore, only those who receive the Holy Spirit can truly comprehend and connect the entire Bible. This ability identifies the true protagonist of the Bible. Nevertheless, many Christian denominations interpret the Bible from their own perspectives. They analyze it in their own ways, often claiming orthodoxy.
Yet, a deeper examination of these biblical words reveals their divine origin. Since these words are from God, they speak of God, not of sinners. This foundational understanding is crucial for grasping the Bible’s secret to eternal life.
Understanding God’s Image and Eternal Life
The Bible reveals man’s original existence. It states that man himself was God. This means Adam and Eve were created in God’s image. Being made in God’s image implies identity with God, not merely resemblance.
God’s kingdom is a unified world, a kingdom of truth. Therefore, truth resides in unity, and truth itself is God. Within this unity, faith exists, and with faith comes eternal life that never perishes. Indeed, the Bible speaks extensively about eternal life.
For example, John 11:25 declares, “He who believes in me will live even if he dies, and he who lives and believes in me will never die.” Furthermore, John 6:49 records that ancestors ate manna in the wilderness and died. However, whoever eats Christ’s flesh and blood will never die. These verses clearly indicate that the human body does not die.
Last week, we discussed that man dies and goes to hell because of sin. When a person dies, it is due to unresolved sins. Conversely, we cannot die if our sins are resolved. However, those without the Holy Spirit often miss this profound meaning when reading the Bible.
Ultimately, the Bible is God’s word. It expresses God’s will and records His purpose. This divine purpose includes the promise of eternal life.
The ‘Self-Consciousness of I’ and Sin
The Bible’s message goes beyond Adam and Eve bearing God’s image. God commands everyone to “Walk in God.” This implies that our current spirit of ‘self-consciousness of I’ is not the Spirit of God. In fact, the Bible clearly addresses this spirit of ‘self-consciousness of I’.
Indeed, the ‘self-consciousness of I’ is the devil. As previously mentioned, James 1:15 states, “lust has conceived, and gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.” Greed is sin, and sin leads to death. Thus, man dies because of lust.
It is not greed itself that is inherently greedy. Rather, the ‘self-consciousness of I’ is greedy. Therefore, the ‘self-consciousness of I’ is sin, and it represents the devil. Many people claim their “soul will be saved,” but they often misunderstand the Bible’s true meaning regarding the ‘self-consciousness of I’.
Since the ‘self-consciousness of I’ is the devil, the Bible urges people to be born again of the Holy Spirit. This means being born again of the Spirit of God. To be born again of God’s Spirit signifies restoration to God. It means becoming God to receive eternal life. When one becomes God, God lives forever and ever.
Consequently, the ‘self-consciousness of I’ is the devil and cannot enter God’s paradise. Many today mistakenly believe that the ‘self-consciousness of I’ (the soul) will enter paradise. However, this is an unbiblical statement and an unbiblical idea. It is time to update this way of thinking.
The True Meaning of Resurrection
A person dies because of sin. Sin is greed, and the ‘self-consciousness of I’ is the actor of this desire. Therefore, people die because of the ‘self-consciousness of I’. The Bible, consequently, records the need to “always forsake self,” “be born again by the Holy Spirit,” and “be resurrected to be saved.”
What about resurrection? How do people typically discuss resurrection today? Many believe that when Jesus returns, graves will open, and corpses will revive with bones and flesh. However, if this were true, then the Bible’s message would be about sinners. If those who died of sins were to live again, it would contradict the Bible’s true words.
Since the ‘self-consciousness of I’ is the devil, man dies because of this devil, which is sin. Therefore, the idea that people who died of their sins will physically live again is an erroneous biblical view. The Bible is a spiritual book. Consequently, the “grave” in “to be resurrected from the grave” refers to a spiritual grave.
What is the Spiritual Grave?
The ‘self-consciousness of I’ is the devil. The spirit of self is sin. The most powerful spirit in every individual is the spirit of death. The soul that controls each person is, in fact, the spiritual grave. Therefore, the spirit of life, the spirit of conscience, and the Spirit of God are trapped within this grave. To be resurrected, the ‘self-consciousness of I’ must be removed. One must overcome the self, overcome sin, overcome the devil, and overcome death, thereby breaking free from the spiritual grave. Then, the spirit of conscience, the Spirit of God, must become the ‘I’. This understanding is key to unlocking the Bible’s secret to eternal life.
This is God’s resurrection. Since these words concern God, the biblical theory of resurrection describes God achieving resurrection. Therefore, those who celebrate Easter and preach about the resurrection of the dead should study the Bible more deeply. They should learn from those who have received the Holy Spirit. Ultimately, the words “to be born again by the Holy Spirit” and “resurrected” are precise and interconnected terms.
Faith, Salvation, and the Bible’s Secret to Eternal Life
The concept that salvation comes through faith aligns with these truths. As discussed last week, faith is a divine gift from God. This gift is specifically eternal life. God bestows eternal life as a gift; He gives nothing else as such a gift.
Therefore, you must possess eternal life and not die. A heart that prevents death, empowered by the Spirit of God, is faith. This Spirit of God, which grants immortality, is the spirit that overcomes the devil, death, and the ‘self-consciousness of I’. This, too, is faith.
Consequently, faith is resurrection, and resurrection is being born again. These concepts are not distinct. Being born again is resurrection, resurrection is faith, faith is salvation, and salvation is eternal life. All these terms signify that the human body does not die.
The Bible’s purpose is God’s purpose. God’s purpose is His will, and His will is His word. Therefore, God’s word speaks of eternal life. However, sinners have often interpreted the Bible in a demonic way. This is precisely why eternal life seems unattainable today.
Many people worldwide claim to believe in the Bible. Yet, if they interpret it demonically, they are unknowingly embracing death. The speaker realized early on that the Bible’s secret to eternal life is clearly revealed within its pages. For this reason, he has dedicated his entire life to destroying the ‘self-consciousness of I’.
Living a Sacrificial Life: Overcoming the ‘Self’
A life dedicated to destroying the ‘self-consciousness of I’ is essential. The Bible teaches that thoughts and actions driven by personal control constitute sin. This is because the spirit representing ‘I’ is the devil. Any insistence from the ‘I’ is sin. Whatever you do under the influence of your ‘I’ is sin.
The Bible instructs us to “walk in God.” This command implies that we are not currently walking in God. Therefore, we must not walk in the ‘self-consciousness of I’. Every action originating from the ‘I’ is sin. Consequently, walking in God means allowing God to become the ‘self-consciousness of I’. Then, God thinks and acts under His own control. This is the core message of the Bible and the true Bible’s secret to eternal life.
Because the ‘I’ is the devil and represents sin, the speaker chose not to act according to his own control. Instead, he moved in the opposite direction throughout his life. He performed tasks he disliked. If he enjoyed a particular food, he would refrain from eating it. If he felt sleepy, he would resist sleep. This was a life lived in opposition to his ‘self’.
Living such an opposite life was incredibly painful and difficult. However, because it aligned with God’s word, he made immense efforts to put it into practice. While evangelizing, he sometimes faced aggressive individuals who beat him severely. Yet, he did not shed tears of unfairness; instead, he gave thanks. This person has dedicated his entire life to evangelism.
Wherever he traveled in Korea, he established churches and schools. This consistent church planting demonstrates that not a single day passed without his evangelistic efforts. He understood that everything the ‘I’ thinks is sin. For instance, if he liked something, it was a sin of fornication. If he made a plan, it was a sin of fornication. Even if he prayed, it was a sin because the devil prays.
Therefore, when he prayed, he allowed God to come and pray through him. He adopted this method of prayer. He realized that obeying God’s word is prayer, and living according to God’s word is prayer. The Bible also states that if you harbor lust in your heart, you have already committed fornication. This man diligently strove not to sin in his heart.
The Path to Immortality: Sacrificial Living
Today, the speaker proclaims to the world that the ‘self-consciousness of I’ is the devil. The spirit controlling ‘me’ is sin, and the current human soul is an element of death. Many people remain unaware that the ‘self-consciousness of I’ embodies the devil, the element of death, original sin, hereditary sin, and self-crime. This lack of awareness signifies a profound ignorance of the Bible.
The Bible holds a secret: anyone who removes the ‘self-consciousness of I’ will not die. This applies whether one knows the Bible, studies it, or even if they are a non-believer or Buddhist. Since the ‘self-consciousness of I’ is the element of death, its removal leads to immortality. For this reason, the speaker chose to live sacrificially, moving in the opposite direction of his desires.
The Spirit of God is inherently sacrificial. Reflecting this, the speaker performed undesirable tasks, such as cleaning toilets. Furthermore, during his 11 years as a military officer in Korea, he never ate an officer’s meal. Instead, he consistently gave his officer’s meal (rice and meat soup) to the weaker pawns. He himself ate the private’s meal, which consisted mostly of barley and salt soup.
His liaison officers often pleaded with him, noticing his deteriorating health, urging him to eat the officer’s meal just once. However, his refusal was not for popularity. Rather, it was a sign of his sacrificial efforts to obey God’s love and merciful word, living out commands like “love your neighbor as yourself” and “consider your brother’s pain like mine.”
Regardless of how profound a word is, it remains dead if not put into practice. Therefore, faith without action is dead faith. Only faith demonstrated through performance is living faith. Consequently, the word comes alive only through practice, and eternal life accompanies you. Without practice, the word becomes lifeless.
Evidence of Physical and Spiritual Transformation
The speaker’s message today highlights a profound truth. While the Bible may not explicitly detail blood changes through the heart or body transformation through the mind, some passages emphasize having the heart of God. When these words are put into practice, extraordinary evidence emerges: blood changes, and the body transforms as one embraces God’s heart.
For instance, upon turning 50, the speaker no longer harbored sin in his heart. He embraced God’s heart and lived a life of obedience to God’s word. Even as his urine continued to discharge blood, his heart underwent a profound change. He experienced no hot temper, nor did lust arise. Furthermore, he achieved a healthy body, as it is now.
The speaker, born a farmer’s son in Gimpo, Gyeonggi-do, possessed remarkable strength from a young age. At seventeen or eighteen, he could carry two sacks of rice, earning him a reputation for Herculean strength among villagers. However, a more astonishing transformation occurred at age 50. After receiving grace and God’s declaration, “you have become an overcomer,” he was able to carry three bags of rice.
Carrying three bags of rice is equivalent to carrying six sacks of cement. In Korea, as many know, one sack of cement weighs 40 kilograms. Therefore, carrying six bags means he carried 240 kilograms. Since one bag of rice weighs 80 kilograms, he carried three such bags. This feat at age 50, compared to carrying two bags at his physical peak of seventeen or eighteen, suggests he became younger, stronger, and healthier. This physical improvement is not due to his own inherent health. Instead, it serves as proof that the Spirit of God was with him.
The Holy Dew and Immortality
Today, when the speaker leads worship in Korea, dew falls without limit. This unlimited dew pours from his eyes and mouth. What does this signify? Hosea 14:5 records that dew represents the Spirit of God. It states, “I will be like the dew to Israel, and he will bloom like a lily.” Here, “I” refers to God. Thus, “God to Israel” signifies the overcomer. Therefore, the saying “I will be like the dew to the overcomer, and he who overcomes will bloom like a lily” means the lily refers to the Savior. Consequently, the one who pours out the Holy Dew is the Savior. If you receive this Holy Dew, you cannot die.
This Bible verse, therefore, contains the Bible’s secret to eternal life, yet few truly understand or explain it correctly. God’s ultimate purpose today is to create a world where all people will not die. This is precisely what the Bible declares. These biblical words reveal the secret to not dying. Therefore, if you possess the heart of God, you will not die. The secret to not dying is simply this: if you follow and practice the Bible, you will not die.
Real-World Evidence and a Call to Action
The Bible records that the ‘self-consciousness of self’ is sin. Yet, many people, unaware of this truth, pursue practices and hopes like “believing well,” “entering heaven,” or “being saved.” However, this approach is fundamentally flawed. In Korea, as mentioned last week, among 100,000 believers, not a single person has died in over six years.
There is astonishing evidence of many patients recovering and transforming into immortal bodies. This includes individuals with liver cirrhosis, liver cancer, stomach cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. The fact that not one person out of 100,000 died in six years signifies that the work of eternal life is actively occurring. Therefore, we invite you to investigate further.
