계두국
In the Buddhist scripture 증일아함경, it is recorded that in the future, Maitreya Buddha will appear in the place ruled by King 계두.
The country ruled by King 계두 refers to 신라, which was called 계림국. In other words, it is the present-day 대한민국.
King 탈해 was worried because he had no son. In the early morning, he found it strange to hear a rooster crowing in the forest, so he went to investigate and found a white rooster crowing beneath a golden box. Inside that box was a baby boy. He adopted him as his son, and he succeeded to the throne. For this reason, 삼국유사 relates that the name of the country was changed to 계림.
불경 증일아함경에는 미래에 미륵불이 계두왕이 다스리는 곳에서 출현한다는 말씀이 기록되어 있다.
계두왕이 다스리는 나라는 계림국으로 불렸던 신라를 말한다. 즉, 지금의 대한민국이다.
탈해왕이 아들이 없어서 걱정하고 있었는데 새벽에 숲 속에서 닭이 우는 소리를 기이하게 여겨 찾아가 보니 금으로된 상자 아래에 흰 닭이 울고 있었다. 그 상자 속에는 남자 아이가 있었는데 그를 아들로 삼아 왕의 대를 이었다. 이러한 연유로 나라 이름을 계림으로 바꾸었다고 삼국유사는 전하고 있다.
