Ignoring verification requests and adjudicated

1without making even a single penny of 헌금, yet claiming to have made hundreds of millions in 헌금, they made that person serve a long prison sentence and come out, didn't they?헌금을 일전도 하지 아니하고 헌금을 몇억씩 했다고 해가지고, 이 사람을 징역을 오래 살고 나오게 했죠?

2Everyone, so what that person said to the judge was,여러분들, 그래서 이 사람이 재판관한테 말하기를 뭐라고 말을 했느냐 하면,

3"Those people did not make even a single penny of 헌금.""저 사람들은 헌금 일전도 안 했습니다."

4"They live in shacks and they live in rented rooms.""하꼬방에서 살고 또 월세방에서 사는 사람들입니다."

5"And when they came to church, they had no bus fare, so they always begged our congregants for bus fare, saying they couldn't go because they had no bus fare, so they asked to borrow just the bus fare, borrowed it, and came to church.""그리고 교회에 나올 때에 차비가 없으니까, 차비를 만날 우리 신도들한테 손 벌리고 차비가 없어서 못 가니, 차비만 꾸어달라고 그래서 꾸어가지고 교회에 나왔던 사람들입니다."

6"So please look for evidence that those people made 헌금. Evidence showing whether they truly had the money to make 헌금!""그러니까 저 사람들이 헌금했다고 하는 것의 증거를 찾아보시기 바랍니다. 과연 헌금할 수 있는 돈이 있는 사람들인지 보여주는 증거!"

7"If you want to find evidence, don't look for photos taken during 헌금 as evidence; before making 헌금, they would have deposited that money in the bank, wouldn't they?""증거를 찾아보시려면 헌금할 때 사진 찍은 걸 증거로 찾는 게 아니고, 헌금하기 전에 그 돈을 은행에 예금했을 것 아닙니까?"

8"Then tell them to bring the bank passbook where they deposited the money before making that 헌금.""그러면 그 헌금 하기 전에 예금했던 통장을 가져오라고 하십시오."

9"If they bring that passbook, I will accept any punishment," he said."그 통장을 가져오면 내가 어떤 처벌을 해도 받겠습니다." 그랬어요.

10Although that person spoke to the judge like that, his words bore no fruit.그렇게 이 사람이 그 판사한테 이야기했지마는 이 사람의 말이 씨가 먹지 않아.

11Do you know why that is?왜 그런지 아세요?

12Because a high-ranking person ordered that that person be punished for 헌금 fraud, if that person is not punished for 헌금 fraud, the judge's head would fall off.높은 사람이 이 사람을 헌금 사기로 처벌하라고 명령을 했기 때문에, 이 사람을 헌금 사기로 처벌하지 않으면 판사 모가지가 뚝 떨어져.

13So, inevitably, although the accused demanded such verification of the 헌금, everyone, if an accused person makes such a demand, the law is structured to always grant the accused's demand.그러니까 할 수 없이 그러한 헌금했다는 검증을 하라고 피의자가 요구를 했지마는, 여러분들, 피의자가 그런 요구를 하면 반드시 피의자의 요구를 들어주게끔 법이 되어 있어요.

14But without listening to the accused's words, they just said "X years in prison!" and punished him like that.그런데 그 피의자의 말을 듣지 아니하고 "징역 몇 년!" 하고서 이렇게 처벌했던 거예요.

15In that law, if a judge pronounces "X years in prison!", one must serve the prison sentence. The law is structured that way.그 법에는 판사가 "징역 몇 년!"이라고 언도를 하게 되면, 징역을 꼭 살아야 돼요. 법이 그렇게 되어 있어요.

16So, because the judge conducted the trial without even verifying the evidence, that person appealed.그래가지고 이 사람이 그렇게 증거도 확인 안 하고 재판을 하니까, 항소를 했어요.

17If an appeal is made, the second-instance trial that proceeds is to be tried at the appellate division of a district court or a high court.항소를 하게 되면, 진행되는 2심 재판은 지방법원 항소부나 고등법원에서 재판하게 되어 있어요.

18So this is called the second-instance court.그래서 이거를 2심 재판부라고 그래요.

19Even when being tried there, that person, too – that person studied law, didn't they?거기에서 재판할 때에도 역시 이 사람은, 이 사람은 법률 공부를 했다고 그랬죠?

20So, that person knows the law better than the lawyer who defended him.그래서 변호한 변호사보다도 법을 잘 알아요, 이 사람이.

21That is why that person requested verification.그렇기 때문에 이 사람은 검증을 해달라고 요청을 했던 거예요.

22If such a request is made, verification cannot be refused.그렇게 요청을 하면, 검증을 안 할 수가 없는 거예요.

23But they ignored that and made a ruling. Do you understand?그런데 그걸 무시하고 판결을 했어요. 아시겠어요?

24So, in such cases, whether there are a hundred congregants, a thousand, or ten, it's fine.그래서 그런 때에는, 신도들이 백 명이든 천 명이든 열 명이든 좋아요.

25The congregants should say, "Those people are incapable of making 헌금. How can people who ate only noodles every day have made 헌금?"신도들이 "저 사람들은 헌금할 능력이 없는 사람들이고, 매일 국수만 먹던 사람들이 어떻게 헌금을 했다고 합니까?"

26"So, since they didn't make even a single penny of 헌금, the claim that these people made 헌금 is a blatant lie," and"그러니까 일전도 헌금을 하지 않은 것이니까, 이 사람들이 헌금했다고 하는 말을 새빨간 거짓말입니다." 하고

27if everyone submits a petition to the judge, no matter how high-ranking the person who ordered "punish for 헌금 fraud" was, even if his own head is on the line, if many witnesses submit such petitions, then punishment is impossible.전부 탄원서를 판사한테 내버리면, 아무리 높은 사람이 "헌금 사기로 처벌하라"라고 명령을 했어도, 자기 모가지가 도망갈지라도, 많은 증인이 그렇게 탄원서를 내고 그러면 처벌할 수가 없어요.

28This is what happens in a country governed by law, this is.이게 법치국가에서 하는 거예요, 이게.

29Our country is a country governed by law.우리나라 법치국가예요.

30But because the congregants do not do so, it ends up being seen as the congregants' acknowledgement.그런데 신도들이 그와같이 하지 아니하니까, 그러니까 신도들이 인정하는 걸로 되어버려요.

31"Wow~ if the claim that those people made 헌금 is a lie, why are the congregants silent?""이야~ 저 사람들이 헌금했다는 말이 거짓말이면, 왜 신도들이 가만히 있느냐?"

32So, a legally authoritative interpretation is made, saying "it's okay to punish them.""그러니까 처벌해도 괜찮다"라고 하는 그런 법적으로 유권해석이 되어버려요.

33So, they ended up being punished. Do you understand?그래서 처벌을 받게 된 거예요. 아시겠어요?

34So, it wasn't just because the accusers filed a complaint that he ended up in prison, but because the congregants failed to fulfil their role as congregants, that person was punished.그래서 고소인들만 고소를 해서 그렇게 옥중 살이 한 것이 아니라, 신도들이 신도의 구실을 못 했기 때문에 이 사람이 처벌받은 거예요.

35So, 이 사람 said in the early days.그래서 이 사람이 초창기에 말을 했어요.

36In the early days, "Although you say you work for 하나님, there are times when you harm 하나님 instead!" 이 사람 said.초창기에 "여러분들이 하나님을 위해서 일을 한다고 하지만, 도리어 하나님을 해칠 때가 있다!"라고 그랬어요.

37That is exactly it.그게 바로 그것이에요.

38이 사람 already foresaw all of it.이 사람 벌써 앞을 내다본 거예요, 다.

39He knew everything that would happen in the future.앞으로 되어질 것을 다 알고 있었어요.
