9So, 이제 그대로, they went to Sangmudae in Gwangju, Jeollanam-do, and received training for another six months.그래서, 이제 그대로, 전라남도 광주 상무대에 가서 6개월 동안 또 훈련을 받는 겁니다.

10In the hot summer, 이제 그대로, they received training on Jeju Island, and in the cold winter, they received officer candidate training at Sangmudae.뜨거운 여름에는, 이제 그대로, 제주도에서 훈련을 받았고, 추운 겨울에는 상무대에서 간부후보생 훈련을 받았던 것이올시다.

12Then they would follow into the water; if they followed in, they would cross that water and cross the stream, and in that cold winter, 이제 그대로, those who came out first would be standing there shivering until all 300 people came out.그러면 물에 따라 들어가요, 따라 들어가면 그 물을 건너서 개울을 건너가지고, 그 추운 겨울에, 이제 그대로, 그 300명이 다 나올 때까지 먼저 나온 사람들은 덜덜 떨고 서 있는 거예요.

13So, 이제 그대로, icicles would be on their chins, and icicles would hang in clusters, it was that cold.그러니까, 이제 그대로, 고드름이 턱에도 있고, 주렁주렁 고드름이 달려요, 그렇게 추운데.

14That way, 이제 그대로, stripped naked, they would run with rifles at the ready; now it's paved with asphalt, but at that time, the road was covered with gravel, and if you ran barefoot on that road, you would hit stones and blood would come from your big toes, you couldn't possibly describe that suffering with words.그렇게, 이제 그대로, 빨가벗고 앞에총에 구보를 하는데, 지금은 아스팔트로 깔려있지만, 그 당시에는 도로가 자갈이 깔려있어서, 그 도로를 맨발로 뛰면 돌에 부딪혀서 엄지발가락에서 피가 나고, 그 고생을 입으로 다 말할 수가 없어요.

15So if they ran, because they ran such a very long distance in that cold weather and came back, would they sweat, or not?그래서 구보해서 뛰면, 그 추운 날씨에 너무너무 먼 거리를 뛰어서 갔다 오니까, 땀이 날까, 안 날까?

16They would sweat, and, 이제 그대로, far from having icicles, everything would melt, and sweat would be pouring down, and then crawling, first crawl, those who have been in the military all know.땀이 나서, 이제 그대로, 고드름은커녕 다 녹아서 완전히 땀이 줄줄 흐르는 가운데, 그다음에 포복, 제1 포복, 군대 생활한 사람들은 다 알아요.

17There are first crawl and second crawl, and if you crawl forward, blood would pour from both elbows.제1 포복, 제2 포복이라 해가지고 있는데, 앞으로 포복하면 양쪽 팔꿈치가 피가 줄줄 흘러요.

18Next, 이제 그대로, there's the second crawl, where you fall backward and crawl.그다음에는, 이제 그대로, 제2 포복이라고 해서 뒤로 자빠져서 포복해요.

19As they fell backward and crawled, their buttocks would be all scraped, and blood would pour out.뒤로 자빠져서 포복하니까 장댕이가 다 까져서 피가 줄줄 나와요.

20In the world, 이제 그대로, there's no one who received such harsh training as this person.세상에, 이제 그대로, 이 사람처럼 모진 훈련을 받은 사람은 없어요.

21What that is, is that 마귀 was trying to kill this person, but in the end, it made this person an 이긴자, didn't it?그게 뭐냐면 마귀가 바로 이 사람을 죽이려고 했던 것이었지만, 결국은 이 사람을 이긴자를 만든 거죠?

22Through that severe 연단, severe training, they received training that gradually made their endurance stronger, 이제 그대로, making their endurance strong.그 모진 연단, 모진 훈련을 통하여 인내력을 점점 강하게, 이제 그대로, 인내력을 강하게 만드는 훈련을 받았던 것이올시다.

23That's that, but also, what kind of officer training they did at that time was, Sangmudae was all fenced with barbed wire, and military police were all standing guard, so of course, they couldn't go out through the main gate.그것도 그거지만, 그 당시에 장교 훈련을 어떤 걸 했냐면, 상무대에 철조망이 다 되어 있고, 헌병들이 다 보초를 서고 있는데, 정문으로 물론 나갈 수가 없어요.

24But they were told to go over that barbed wire and steal one straw sack each, by going to a civilian's house, do you understand?그런데 바로 그 철조망을 넘어가서, 가마니를 하나씩 훔쳐 오라는 거예요. 민간인 집에 가서, 아시겠어요?

25After stealing the straw sacks that way, they were told not to come in through the main gate, but to come in by climbing over the barbed wire.그렇게 가마니를 훔쳐서, 정문으로 들어오는 게 아니고 철조망을 넘어서 들어오라는 거예요.

26But the military police were given orders to catch every single person who climbed over the barbed wire.그런데 헌병들에게는 철조망을 넘는 사람을 하나씩 전부 잡으라는 명령을 한 거예요.

27So, 이제 그대로, they had to knock down that military policeman to get over it; could they get over it without knocking them down?그러니까, 이제 그대로, 그 헌병을 때려 눕혀야 그걸 넘어가지, 때려눕히지 않고는 그걸 넘어갈 수 있어요?

28But did the military police all have guns, or not?그런데 헌병들은 전부 총을 다 가지고 있어, 안 가지고 있어?

29They all had guns, of course.총을 다 가지고 있죠.

30So, going out with bare fists, after knocking down those military police who were holding guns, 이제 그대로, they would go over the barbed wire and bring a straw sack, and when they brought the straw sack and went over again, they would knock down the guarding military policeman and climb back inside; this person received such training during their officer candidate period.그러니까, 그 맨주먹으로 나가서 총을 들고 있는 그 헌병들을 때려눕힌 다음에, 이제 그대로, 철조망을 넘어가서 가마니를 가져오고, 가마니를 가져와서 또 넘어갈 때에도 보초 서는 헌병을 때려눕히고 안으로 넘어가는 그런 훈련을 시켰어요, 이 사람 간부후보생 시절에.

31So, if they went to enemy territory and fought the enemy, would they lose, or win?그러니까, 적진지에 가서 적하고 싸워서 지겠어, 이기겠어?

32Since they received such training, they couldn't lose, could they?그런 훈련을 받았으니까 질 수가 없죠?

33If they were hit by a bullet, it's unknown, but when hand-to-hand combat broke out, they wouldn't lose then, because they received that harsh training.총알 맞으면 모르지만, 육박전이 벌어졌을 땐 그때는 지질 않아요, 그 모진 훈련을 받았기 때문에.

34So, after receiving all that harsh training, and then after this person received six months of training, would they be commissioned as an officer, or not?그래서 바로 그런 모진 훈련을 다 받고, 그다음에 이 사람이 6개월 훈련받고 나니까, 장교 임관이 될까, 안 될까?

35They were commissioned as an officer, weren't they?장교 임관이 됐던 거죠?

36So, this person, Officer Candidate Class 87, was commissioned as an officer, and then, wearing the rank insignia of an army second lieutenant, 이제 그대로, they were assigned to the 28th Infantry Division.그래서 이 사람이 간부후보생 87기, 장교 임관을 하고, 그다음에 육군소위 계급장을 달고, 이제 그대로, 육군 제28사단으로 부임하게 됐던 것이올시다.

37As they were assigned, right then, immediately upon assignment, the armistice was declared.부임하게 되니까, 바로 그때 부임하자마자 휴전이 됐던 것이올시다.

38After the armistice was declared, this person's 28th Infantry Division was in Sachang-ri, Goesan-eup.휴전이 되어서, 이 사람이 육군 제28사단이 어디에 있었냐면 괴산읍 사창리에 있었어요.

39That Sachang-ri was several hours away from Chuncheon, deep in the mountains.그 사창리는 춘천서 산골로 한참 몇 시간을 갔어요.

40There were no civilian houses there; it was a place where only mountains and sky were visible. It was so scary that even entering during the day was frightening.그곳은 민가도 없고, 산하고 하늘만 보이던 곳이에요. 낮에 들어가도 무서울 정도예요.

41After being assigned to such a unit in Sachang-ri, 이제 그대로, among this person's classmates, a student who graduated from Seoul National University, a fellow classmate, committed suicide within just one to two months of being assigned.그러한 사창리 부대에 부임을 해가지고, 이제 그대로, 이 사람 동기생 가운데 서울대학교 졸업한 학생, 같은 동기생인데 부임한 지 불과 한 달에서 두 달 만에 자살했었어요.

42Now, most ordinary people cannot endure it.이제 웬만한 사람은 견디질 못해요.

43After being assigned, the UTC training was so intense, and the training was so strong, they couldn't endure it.부임하고 나니까, UTC 교육이라고 해서 얼마나 달달 볶고, 얼마나 훈련이 센지, 견딜 수가 없어요.

44So, 이제 그대로, this person, having received severe 연단, could they endure that much, or not?그래서, 이제 그대로, 이 사람은 모진 연단을 받은 사람인 고로, 그 정도는 충분히 견딜 수 있었을까, 못 견뎠을까?

45They could endure it, couldn't they?견딜 수가 있었던 거죠?

46However, a person who had not experienced such 연단 ended up committing suicide.그러나 그런 연단을 받아보지 못한 사람은 자살하게 되었던 것이올시다.

47이제 그대로, that friend who committed suicide was a friend who liked this person very much, and truly, because that friend committed suicide, this person shed many tears.이제 그대로, 그 자살한 그 친구가 몹시 이 사람을 좋아하던 친구인데, 참말로 그 친구가 자살함으로 말미암아 이 사람이 많이 눈물도 흘렸어요.

48At that time, that person was assigned to a heavy weapons company, and this person, 이제 그대로, was appointed as the Operations Officer of the 3rd Battalion, 82nd Regiment.그 당시에 그 사람은 중화기 중대에 배치됐고, 이 사람은, 이제 그대로, 82연대 3대대 작전 과장으로 부임했던 것이올시다.

49In formulating operations, this person always received praise from the battalion commander.작전을 수립하는데 항상 이 사람이 대대장한테 칭찬받았어요.

50Saying that this person did better than an army captain in formulating operations, 이제 그대로, this person always received praise.육군 대위가 작전 수립을 하는 것보다 잘한다고 하면서, 이제 그대로, 늘 칭찬받았던 것이올시다.

51And so, while this person was serving as the Operations Officer, 이제 그대로, this person began to teach young military personnel who had not completed middle school or high school every evening.그리하야 이 사람이 그 작전 과장으로 있으면서, 이제 그대로, 중학 공부를 하지 못하고 고등학교 공부를 하지 못한 젊은 청년 군인들을 저녁마다 이 사람이 공부를 가르치기 시작했던 것이올시다.

52But, when this person first took up the post, they called it a welcoming ceremony for new officers, and, 이제 그대로, the officers of that 3rd Battalion gathered, saying they were welcoming this person, and bought soju and set it out,그런데, 이 사람이 처음에 부임하니까, 신임 장교 환영식이라고 해가지고, 이제 그대로, 그 3대대 장교들이 모여서 이 사람을 환영한다고 해 놓고는 소주를 사다 놓고,

53"Do you drink?" So,"자네 술 먹나?" 그래서

54"I have never drunk alcohol, nor have I ever touched it to my lips.""나는 술을 한 번도 먹어본 적도 없고, 입에 대본 적이 없습니다."

55"Oh, really? If you can't drink alcohol, you'll have to drink cola~""어~ 그래? 술 못 먹으면 콜라 먹어야 하겠네~"

56So, this person thought they were pouring cola, but they knocked this person down, laid this person flat, held this person's hands from both sides, one person held this person's cheeks from both sides, and pressed down hard like this.그래서, 나는 콜라를 따라주는 줄 알았더니 자빠트려서, 이 사람을 눕혀서 손을 양쪽에서 잡고, 한 사람은 이 사람의 볼을 양쪽에서 잡고, 이렇게 세게 눌러요.

57So, the mouth opened.그러니까 입이 벌어져요.

58As the mouth was forced open like that, they poured soju into it.입이 그렇게 강제로 벌어지니까, 여기다가 소주를 따르는 거예요.

59As they poured it in, some soju flowed out, but some would also go down, wouldn't it?여기다 따르니까 소주가 바깥으로 흐르는 것도 있지만 넘어가는 것도 있겠죠?

60So, at that time, soju went down this person's throat, and so, this person got drunk on soju and had a terrible time.그래서 이 사람이 당시에 소주가 넘어가서, 그래서 소주에 취해서 아주 혼이 났어요.

61But at this welcoming ceremony for new officers, they said that those who didn't know how to drink should be taught to drink, and anyway, truly, soldiers are mischievous, and there must be many soldiers who are incredibly playful, right?그런데 이 신임 장교 환영식에는 술 먹을 줄 모르는 사람은 술을 가르쳐야 한다고 해가지고, 하여간 참, 군인들이 짓궂고, 군인들이 말할 수 없이 장난이 심한 사람들이 많겠죠?

62So, this person at that time, 이제 그대로, got drunk on soju and couldn't get up until the next day.그래서 이 사람이 그 당시에, 이제 그대로, 소주에 취해서 그 이튿날까지 일어나지 못했어요.

63So, because they had made this person drink soju and unable to get up until the next day, those officers were severely reprimanded by the battalion commander. They even received disciplinary punishment.그래서 그 당시에 그 소주를 먹여서 그 이튿날까지 일어나지 못하게 됐다 해가지고, 대대장한테 그 장교들 아주 혼났어요. 기합까지 받았어요.

64That new officer, that officer who couldn't even drink alcohol, was forced to drink alcohol, and because they made this person unable to get up until the next day, there was a fact that they were given severe disciplinary punishment and reprimanded.그 신임 장교를, 그 술도 못 먹는 그런 장교를 갖다가 술을 강제로 먹여서, 그 이튿날까지 일어나지 못하게 했다고 해서 아주 기합도 주고 혼을 낸 사실이 있었어요.

65이제 그대로, most soldiers are not gentle, are they rough and incredibly rough, or not? They are rough, aren't they?이제 그대로, 군인들은 대부분 얌전한 것이 아니고, 거칠고 말도 못 하게 거칠까, 안 거칠까? 거칠죠.

66So, while this person was living such a rough life, 이제 그대로, when Saturday came, all other officers went out on leave, all went out on leave to Seoul, but this person could not go out on leave every Saturday, so this person always lived with the lower-ranking soldiers.그래서 이 사람이 그러한 거친 생활을 하는 가운데, 이제 그대로, 토요일만 되면 다른 장교들은 다 외출을 나가고, 다 서울로 외출을 나가는데, 이 사람은 토요일마다 외출을 나갈 수가 없는 고로, 늘 쫄병들하고 같이 생활했던 겁니다.

67Therefore, as soon as this person entered the military, because this person was someone with a spirit of sacrifice, 이제 그대로, were there weak and sick people among the lower-ranking soldiers, or not? There would have been, right?그런고로 이 사람이 군대 들어가자마자, 희생정신이 있는 사람인 고로, 이제 그대로, 쫄병들 가운데 허약하고 병든 사람들이 있었을까, 없었을까? 있었겠죠,

68So, those people, 이제 그대로, this person gave officer's meals to those weak and sick people, and officer's meals are rice.그래서 그 사람들을, 이제 그대로, 그 허약하고 병들은 사람에게 장교 밥을 주고, 장교 밥은 쌀밥이에요.

69Officer's meals are always rice and meat soup.장교 밥은 쌀밥이고 고깃국이에요, 반드시.

70So, an officer has three lower-ranking soldiers, liaison soldiers, attached to them, for one officer.그래서 장교는 쫄병이, 연락병이 세 명이 붙어요, 장교 한 명에.

71So, with three liaison soldiers attached, there's a liaison soldier who brings meals, there's a communications liaison soldier, and there's a liaison soldier who does laundry, for one officer.그래서 세 명의 연락병이 붙어서 밥을 날라다 주는 연락병이 있는가 하면, 통신 연락병이 있고, 또 빨래해 주는 연락병이 있어요, 장교 하나에.

72So, 이제 그대로, this person told them to take the meal prepared for this person to the sick and weak lower-ranking soldiers, and because this person asked for the lower-ranking soldiers' meal and ate it, would this person's face look bad, or not?그래서, 이제 그대로, 이 사람한테 차려오는 밥을 병들어 있는 허약한 쫄병에게 갖다주라고 그러고, 그 쫄병 밥을 가져오라고 해서 먹으니까, 얼굴이 나빠질까, 안 나빠질까?

73It would look bad, wouldn't it?얼굴이 나빠지겠죠?

74As anyone who served in the military at that time would know, it was barley rice and salty soup.그 당시에 군대 생활을 한 사람은 다 알겠지만, 꽁보리밥에 소금국이에요.

75Truly, 이제 그대로, one couldn't help but suffer from malnutrition with that.참 이제 그대로, 그거는 영양실조에 안 걸 수가 없어요.

76Therefore, because they were so incredibly hungry, there were many instances of lower-ranking soldiers deserting.그런고로 그 너무너무 배가 고파 가지고 쫄병들이 도망을 가는 예가 많이 있었어요.

77So, because there were many deserters at that time, catching deserters and beating three of them to death, because it was just around the time of the armistice, because there were many deserters, there were scenes where many soldiers were gathered, and three people were caught, beaten, and killed.그래서 그 당시에 도망병들이 많은 고로, 도망병을 잡아다가 때려서 세 놈을 죽이는, 막 휴전될 무렵인 고로, 도망병이 많은 고로, 여러 장병을 모아놓고 세 사람을 잡아다가 때려서 죽이는 그런 광경도 있었어요.

78Because they were beaten to death like that, fewer deserters appeared.그렇게 때려서 죽이니까, 도망병이 좀 덜 생겨요.

79이제 그대로, at that time, there were many people who died by stepping on landmines.이제 그대로, 당시에는 지뢰를 밟아서 죽는 사람이 많이 있었어요.

80So, they would report them as killed in action by stepping on a landmine, at that time, after beating them to death.그래서 지뢰를 밟아서 죽었다고 전사 보고를 해버려요, 그 당시에는, 때려서 죽여놓고는.

81So, would the laws of this world apply in the military, or not?그러니까 군대에서 이 세상의 법이 적용될까, 안 될까?

82They don't apply.적용이 안 돼요.

83So, 이제 그대로, this person saw such scenes, and gave mental training to this person's subordinates, telling them please not to see such miserable sights, but one of this person's subordinates ended up defecting to the North.그래서, 이제 그대로, 이 사람이 그러한 광경을 보고, 제발 너희들은 그런 비참한 꼴을 보지 말라고 이 사람 부하들한테는 정신교육을 시켰지만, 이 사람 부하 가운데에 한 사람이 월북한 사람이 생겼어요.

84If one person defected to the North, this person would lose their officer's rank insignia and have to take off their uniform.한 사람이 월북하게 되면, 이 사람은 장교 계급장도 떨어지고 옷을 벗어야 해요.

85At that time, this person would have had to take off their uniform and go to the stockade, but because this person was well-regarded by the battalion commander and the regimental commander, this person, 이제 그대로, was not even referred to a disciplinary committee, and because they were lenient, this person did not receive any disciplinary action.그 당시에 옷 벗고 영창에 들어가야 하는데, 대대장하고 연대장한테 잘 뵌 고로, 이 사람이, 이제 그대로, 징계위원회 회부도 안 당하고, 봐줬기 때문에 징계도 받지 않았어요.

86At that time, if one of this person's subordinates defected to the North, it would be a huge problem then, this person would go to the stockade.그 당시에는 만약에 이 사람 부하 가운데에 월북한 사람이 생긴다든지 하면 그때는 큰일 나는 거예요, 영창에 들어가는 거예요.

87But, 이제 그대로, this person was well-regarded by the battalion commander and well-regarded by the regimental commander, so this person avoided such a situation.그런데, 이제 그대로, 이 사람은 대대장한테 잘 뵈고, 연대장한테 잘 뵌 고로, 그런 일은 모면했어요.

88So, this person lived a diligent life to that extent, didn't they?그러니까 그만큼 이 사람이 착실한 생활을 했던 거죠?

89So, this person also cleaned the toilets, getting up at 2 or 3 AM when all the lower-ranking soldiers were asleep, 이제 그대로, this person individually picked up sand with straw, applied water, and scrubbed the yellow-stained toilet, always cleaning the latrine, until eventually, this person was caught by the lower-ranking soldiers.그래서 이 사람이 화장실 청소도 하고, 쫄병들이 다 잠잘 때 2시, 3시에 일어나서, 이제 그대로, 누렇게 묻어있는 화장실 청소를 짚푸락으로 일일이 모래를 찍어서 물을 칠해서 닦고, 변소 청소를 늘 하다가 나중에는 쫄병들한테 들켰어요.

90이제 그대로, this person didn't know that the lower-ranking soldiers had even devised a plan to take turns standing guard and watching to find out who was cleaning the latrine, and while continuing to clean the latrine, this person was caught.이제 그대로, 그 변소 청소를 누가 하는지 교대로 보초로 서서 감시해서 찾아내자고 쫄병들이 작전 짠 것도 나는 모르고, 계속해서 변소 청소를 하다가 그만 들켰어요.

91So, later, the lower-ranking soldiers grabbed this person and cried, saying, "Officer, why are you cleaning the toilets like this?"그러니까 나중에 쫄병들이 이 사람을 붙잡고 울면서, "장교님이 어쩌자고 이렇게 화장실 청소를 하십니까"

92"Please don't do that. We will do it, so please don't do that," they said."제발 그러지 마십시오. 우리가 할 테니까 그러지 마십시오"라고 하니까.

93Such a rumour, would it have reached the battalion commander, regimental commander, and division commander, or not?그런 소문이 대대장 연대장 사단장한테 들어갔을까, 안 들어갔을까?

94It would have reached them, wouldn't it?들어가게 됐겠죠?

95So, this person, 이제 그대로, was recognised as the most exemplary officer in that division.그래서 이 사람은, 이제 그대로, 그 사단에서 가장 모범적인 장교로 인정이 됐던 것이올시다.

96And so, 이제 그대로, when this person was a second lieutenant in the army, this person was appointed as the Public Information Officer of the 6th, 82nd Regiment.그리하야, 이제 그대로, 이 사람이 육군 소위 때에 제6대, 제82연대의 정훈 과장으로 발령이 났던 것이올시다.

97After being appointed as the Public Information Officer, this person educated the regimental soldiers, provided mental training, and frequently showed movies, doing much to provide spiritual comfort.정훈 과장으로 발령이 나서 이 사람이 연대 장병들에게 교육을 시키고, 정신교육을 시키고, 영화를 자꾸 돌려줘서 정신적인 위안을 시켜주는 일을 많이 했던 것이올시다.

98So, this person received much praise.그래서 이 사람은 칭찬을 많이 받았어요.

99이제 그대로, the rumour that this person taught lower-ranking soldiers at night reached the division commander.이제 그대로, 이 사람이 야간이면 쫄병들에게 공부를 가르친다는 소문이 사단장한테 들어갔던 겁니다.

100So, the division commander appointed this person as the 28th Division's Education Officer at the division's replacement unit, and this person gathered young military personnel within the division who had not completed middle school or high school and began to teach them.그래서, 사단장이 사단 보충대에 이 사람을 28사단 교육 책임 장교로 발령해서, 이 사람이 사단 내에 있는 장병들 가운데 중학교 고등학교 못 나온 젊은 청년 군인들을 모아놓고 공부를 가르치기 시작했어요.

101So, as this person began to teach, word spread, and young civilian children, 이제 그대로, asked this person to teach them, so this person began to teach in 일동.그래서 이 사람이 공부를 가르치게 되니까 소문이 나서 민간인 청년 아이들이, 이제 그대로, 이 사람에게 공부를 가르쳐달라고 해서 일동에서 공부를 가르치기 시작했던 것이올시다.

102Next to the 일동 Presbyterian Church, this person set up a tent and designated that as the place to teach, and taught there.일동 장로교회 옆에다가 천막을 치고, 거기에다가 공부를 가르치는 장소를 정해놓고 가르쳤던 것이올시다.

103So, that became today's 일동 중고등학교.그래서 그것이 오늘날 일동 중고등학교가 된 것이올시다.

104Then, as the 28th Division of the Army was replaced by the 24th Division of the British Army, the division headquarters moved from 일동 to 신산리.그러다가, 육군 제28사단이 영국군 제24사단하고 교대하는 바람에, 일동 쪽에서 신산리 쪽으로 사단본부가 이동하게 되었던 겁니다.

105This person also there, right in 신산리, 남면, 양주군, came to establish 양수 중학교, where this person also taught.이 사람은 거기에서도, 바로 양주군 남면 신산리 쪽에다가 역시 공부를 가르치는 양수 중학교를, 이 사람이 세우게 되었던 겁니다.

106이제 그대로, in a place called 상수리, 남면, 양주군, this person again pioneered a church and established a Presbyterian church.이제 그대로, 양주군 남면 상수리라고 하는 곳에다가 교회를 또 개척해서 장로교회를 세웠던 겁니다.

107Then, this person was again transferred, and because at that time, it was duty near the 38th parallel, across the Imjin River, 이제 그대로, only officers with good ideology could serve there.그러다가, 이 사람이 다시금 발령이 나서, 당시에 임진강 건너는 바로 38선 근방 근무인 고로, 이제 그대로, 사상이 좋은 장교만 거기에 근무할 수가 있어요.

108So, this person was selected and went there, and to enter a place called 백학, across the Imjin River, one could not enter without this person's approval.그래서 이 사람이 뽑혀서 거기에 들어가게 되었는데, 임진강을 건너서 백학이라고 하는 곳에 들어가려면, 이 사람의 결제가 없이는 들어갈 수가 없었어요.

109So, when a 권사 from 전도관 said they were coming in, because this person was attending a Presbyterian church at that time, this person thought 전도관 was a cult.그래서 전도관의 권사가 들어온다고 할 때 이 사람은 그 당시에 장로교를 나갈 때인고로, 전도관은 이단이라고 생각했던 것이올시다.

110So, there was an instance where this person did not grant permission for that 권사 to enter.그래서 그 권사를 들어오지 못하게 허락을 안 해줬던 일이 있었던 것이올시다.

111이제 그대로, in 백학, this person also established a church and taught.이제 그대로, 백학에다가 역시 교회도 세우고 공부도 가르쳤던 겁니다.

112Because there were residents living in 백학, this person also taught there, and then, in a village called 마지리, 적선면, 파주군, this person established a Methodist church.백학에 사는 주민들이 있는 고로, 거기에서 공부도 가르쳤고, 그다음에는 파주군 적선면 마지리라고 하는 부락에다가 감리교를 세웠던 것이올시다.

113This person pioneered and established a Methodist church, led worship services there, and also taught there.감리교회를 개척해서 세우고 거기에서 예배 인도를 하고 또 역시 공부도 거기서 가르치기도 했던 것이올시다.

114Then again, 이제 그대로, this person came out to 신산리, and while teaching students at 상수 중학교 there, because this person had served in a frontline unit for 7 years there, this person was transferred to a rear area.그러다가 다시, 이제 그대로, 신산리 쪽으로 나와서 거기에서 역시 상수 중학교 학생들을 가르치다가, 거기에서 7년 동안 전방 부대 근무를 했다고 해서 후방으로 발령이 됐던 것이에요.

115After this person was transferred to a rear area, 이제 그대로, this person initially worked at a women's military training centre, but because this person absolutely could not work at the women's military training centre, this person requested a transfer to the training centre commander, and was transferred to 논산훈련소.이 사람이 후방으로 발령이 나서, 이제 그대로, 처음에는 여군훈련소에서 근무했는데, 도저히 여군훈련소에서 근무할 수가 없는 고로, 훈련소장한테 이동 상신을 해서 논산훈련소로 발령이 났던 겁니다.

116After going to 논산훈련소, 이제 그대로, this person established the 재건 중고등학교, which is now renamed 익산 중고등학교.논산훈련소에 가서는, 이제 그대로, 현재 익산 중고등학교로 이름이 바뀌 있는 재건 중고등학교를 이 사람이 세웠던 겁니다.

117While serving in the military, 이제 그대로, this person did such work as teaching soldiers during the day and civilians at night, and eventually, that developed into a school, becoming today's 익산 중고등학교.군대에 근무하면서, 이제 그대로, 낮에는 군인들을 가르치고 밤에는 민간인들을 가르치는 이와 같은 일을 해서, 결국은 그것이 학교로 발전해서 지금의 익산 중고등학교가 된 것이올시다.

118In this way, 이제 그대로, this person, throughout their life, never once taught for money.이와 같이, 이제 그대로, 이 사람은 평생을, 그렇다고 해서 언제 한번 돈을 받고 공부를 가르치는 일은 해본 적이 없는 것이에요.

119This person always taught in a voluntary and sacrificial manner.언제든지 봉사적으로 언제든지 희생적으로 가르치는 것이올시다.

120이제 그대로, this person consistently lived a sacrificial life throughout their entire life, never once living for 'myself'.이제 그대로, 이 사람이 한평생을 희생적인 생활로 일관했지, 언제 한번 '나'를 위해서 세상을 살아보질 않았던 것이올시다.

121이제 그대로, while living such a sacrificial life, would this person not have always lived a life of prayer?이제 그대로, 희생적인 생활을 그렇게 하면서 늘 기도 생활을 안 했을까?

122This person did live a life of prayer, didn't they?기도 생활을 했던 거죠.

123While teaching so sacrificially, 이제 그대로, in 동고도리, 금마면, 익산군, this person pioneered a 전도관, and, 이제 그대로, established 금마 전도관.그렇게 희생적으로 공부를 가르치면서, 이제 그대로, 익산군 금마면 동고도리에다가 전도관을 개척해서, 이제 그대로, 금마 전도관을 세웠던 것이올시다.

124Even when establishing Geumma 전도관 at that time, because 이 사람 had no money, 이 사람 made mud bricks with the young students, and then stacked those mud bricks and put up a tent for the roof to establish the 제단.그 당시에 금마 전도관을 세울 때도 이 사람이 돈이 없으니까, 흙벽돌을 청년 학생들과 같이 찍어서, 그래서 그 흙벽돌을 쌓고 지붕은 천막을 쳐서 제단을 세웠던 것이올시다.

125이 사람 directly led the worship, 이제 그대로, and since most of the congregants were young students learning from 이 사람, did many congregants gather, or just a few?이 사람이 직접 예배 인도를 하고, 이제 그대로, 교인들이 대부분 다 이 사람한테 공부를 배우는 청년 학생들인 고로, 교인들이 많이 모였을까, 조금 모였을까?

126Many must have gathered, right?많이 모였겠죠?

127As many congregants gathered at that time, would they call 이 사람 from all directions, or not?당시에 많은 교인들이 모이니까 사방에서 이 사람을 부를까, 안 부를까?

128When Jo Seong-ho 전도사 was at Nonsan Samgeori 전도관 at that time, that person came to 이 사람 and asked him to hold a revival meeting.논산 삼거리 전도관에 당시에 조성호 전도사가 있었을 때, 그 사람이 이 사람에게 와서 부흥회를 해달라고 했던 겁니다.

129So, as 이 사람 walked the streets, doing street evangelism and holding revival meetings, would Yeonmudae 전도관 have revived, or not?그래서 이 사람이 길거리를 다니면서 노방전도를 해가며 부흥회를 하니까, 연무대 전도관이 부흥됐을까, 안 됐을까?

130It must have revived, right?부흥이 됐겠죠?

131So, it revived, and at that time, 이제 그대로, as 이 사람 also acted as a revival speaker and taught students, was 이 사람 busy, or not?그래서 부흥이 되고 그 당시에, 이제 그대로, 부흥 강사 노릇도 하면서 학생들을 가르치면서 하니까 바빴을까, 안 바빴을까?

132Of course, 이 사람 was busy.바빴던 거죠.

133In this way, 이 사람 consistently lived a sacrificial life in his youth and always lived only for 하나님.이와같이 이 사람은 젊은 시절을 희생적인 생활로 일관했으며 항상 하나님만을 위해서 살았던 것이올시다.

134Therefore, even if one traces back everything 이 사람 lived, 이제 그대로, 이 사람 clearly lived to the extent that the Spirit of 하나님 resided and remained, right?그런고로 어느 날 이 사람이 생활한 모든 것을 더듬어 봐도, 이제 그대로, 분명히 하나님의 신이 좌정하고 남음이 있었을 정도로 생활했던 거죠?

135Therefore, you all must also resemble 이 사람, mustn't you?그런고로 여러분들도 이 사람을 닮아야 해, 안 닮아야 해?

136You must resemble 이 사람.닮아야죠.

137You must live a life that can be loyal for 하나님, work, 이제 그대로, and bring glory and joy to 하나님, mustn't you? Right? Isn't that so?하나님을 위해서 충성하고, 일을 하고, 이제 그대로, 하나님에게 영광과 기쁨을 돌릴 수 있는 생활을 해야만 되는 거죠? 그래요, 안 그래요?
