Chapter 6

Early Anecdotes

이제 그대로, if a person has the stain of sin, do they go to hell, or heaven?

They go to hell, don’t they?

If the bark of the grapevine is peeled off well in early spring, many fruits will grow, and the grapevine will spread out luxuriantly and thrive.

So, as this person peeled off the bark, what they thought was that just as a person must shed the bark of sin to bear fruit like a grapevine and obtain salvation like a grapevine, this person thought such thoughts while cultivating grapevines, peeling off their bark, and while cutting the branches that did not bear fruit.

Therefore, after this person cut those grapevine branches and harvested all the grapes, 이제 그대로, in autumn, this person dug holes on both sides of the grapevine, brought chicken manure, loaded it onto a truck, carried the chicken manure on a 지게 with a basket, and poured it into each hole.

Pouring that chicken manure, if you pour chicken manure, do the grapes grow well, or not?

The grapes grow well and become sweet, don’t they?

In the past, the grapes from the 밀실 were large and very sweet, so they were very popular.

So, this person picked the grapes from the grapevine, loaded 15, 16 궤짝 onto a cart, pulled it, went directly to 소사깡, pulled their hat down low, and sold the grapes.

After selling them, this person would take the money earned and give it to 해와이긴자, living such a life.

When this person went to that 깡 (market) and sold the grapes picked from the grapevine, who did this person meet? Oh, I forgot the name.

Was it 김충일? Huh? 김광식 deacon’s son, right?

So, this person met him and said, "Hey! Don’t say you met me here." This person made that request.

"Don’t say you met me, absolutely don’t talk about it," this person requested."

At that time, this person also met 김충렬 and 유점분’s father.

유점분’s father had come out with young radishes to sell them, so while this person had come out to sell grapes, 유점분’s father had brought young radishes to sell.

How does this person know 유점분’s father? This person used to evangelise here and there in the early days, didn’t they?

So, in the past, when this person went to evangelise to Mr. 조두희, 이제 그대로, this person also knew 유점분’s father well. At that time, they even greeted each other.

However, 유점분’s father only saw this person, but did not see me.

Since this person had their hat pulled down low, would he know, or not know? He wouldn’t know, would he?

이제 그대로, in the early days, this person came out to you all and led worship like this, then in the evening, they would chop wood, and in the evening, they would give chicken manure to the grapevines, and at dawn, they would load grapes and sell them. This person, now, you never dreamed that the person leading worship would live such a life, did you?

Therefore, I said there were detectives who followed this person for three years, didn’t I?

I said that those detectives later, after three years, bowed deeply on the street as if making a New Year’s bow, didn’t I?

As they bowed, they said, "Good heavens, is there such a wonderful teacher in this world!"

"Truly, I thought all religious leaders in this world wore suits and didn’t work, just drove around in their private cars, but good heavens, to see someone doing such hard labour, going to countless people to pour out grace, and then coming back to do more hard labour, wow!""

이제 그대로, at that time, the directors of 전도관, in other words, accused this person of doing bad things, reported this person to the police, and filed petitions, didn’t they?

So, the detectives followed this person, and at that time, this person’s lodging was a house in 소사동, and a detective rented a room in the house opposite.

It was a house where, if you just opened the window, you could see every action this person made.

As the detective stayed in that house and watched this person’s actions, this person was living alone in their house, and no one was coming and going.

No one was coming and going, and this person, 이제 그대로, would leave in the morning, then a woman from the 밀실 would come to clean and leave early for the 밀실, and then in the evening, this person would return to the lodging, so could they find any fault or blemish, or not?

They couldn’t find any fault or blemish, could they?

So, after three years, did the two detectives finally surrender, or not?

They surrendered.

So, at that time, there was a police chief named Choi at the Bucheon Police Station.

Chief Choi, who is now the director of Cheil Hospital and attends a Presbyterian church, said to that elder who attends the Presbyterian church,최 서장이라고 하는 사람이 현재 제일 병원 원장이 장로교를 나가는데, 장로교 나가는 장로한테 그 사람한테 하는 말이

"Hey, don’t go to such a trivial church as the Presbyterian one, go to a real church.""

"Where is there a real church?" So he said,"진짜 교회가 어디 있습니까?"

"There’s a place called 영생교 하나님의 성회 승리제단 in Yeokgok, and the leader there is truly a wonderful person.""

When that police chief evangelised without even having come to see for himself, because his subordinate reported what he had actually seen, would that police chief have been moved, or not moved?

He was moved, wasn’t he?

Being moved, that police chief evangelised to this person and that person at the time, and people evangelised by that police chief also came, didn’t they?

So, now, you all, 이제 그대로, the 역사 of this 승리제단 has indeed had many twists and turns, hasn’t it?

In the early days, when worship was first held in a 2-storey 제단 of about 20 pyeong, about ten to fifteen directors of 전도관, completely drunk, led by a police inspector, stormed in, didn’t they?

They stormed in, and the inspector came in and asked this person various questions.

"What kind of place is this?""

"Can’t you tell by looking? We hold worship here, and citizens of the Republic of Korea gather to worship in freedom of religion. Why have you come?""

"Do you know, or do you not know, that if you obstruct a religious gathering like this, it becomes the crime of obstructing a religious gathering, and you must go to prison?" So he said,"이렇게 종교 집회를 방해하면 종교 집회 방해죄가 되기 때문에 형무소 가야 한다는 것을 아십니까, 모르십니까?" 하니까

"No, I don’t know anything.... these people told me to come.""

At that time, that inspector turned pale, and there was an incident where he came thinking this person knew nothing, but ended up being severely reprimanded, wasn’t there?

"If I file a complaint with the prosecutor’s office tomorrow for the crime of obstructing a religious gathering, even if you are a police inspector, you will have to go to prison. Shall I do that?""

I retorted to that inspector.

"No, I wasn't interfering; these people asked me to come, so I came."

"Oh, come on, you people, this is a religious gathering place, why did you ask me to come? Go on!""

At that time, they took everyone away, didn't they?

They came here completely drunk to cause trouble, but if they messed up, they'd end up in prison, so it was a big problem, wasn't it?

So at that time, they really took off running as fast as they could, didn't they?

Therefore, 이제 그대로, when our 승리제단 in Yeokgok first held worship services at that time, when 50, 60, 70 people were gathering then, at that time, 이제 그대로, the 전도관 managers came, bringing a police lieutenant with them, completely drunk... This was almost a disaster, wasn't it almost a disaster?

That shouldn't happen, should it? Right? Isn't that so?

So at that time, the people who had gathered at 전도관, would they unite more strongly, and would their faith become stronger, or weaker?

It became stronger, didn't it?

Indeed, many things happened.

In the early days, what happened was, "If you kill 조희성, I will give you 500 million won," and a bounty was even placed.

So, to kill this person, the person in charge of that was a 신앙촌 youth who ran a business in the basement of Bucheon Nambu Station, and that person spread the rumour, saying, "If you kill this person, you will receive 500 million won."

So, because they even told gangsters in Sosa, when this person entered the 밀실, at first, this person didn't sleep in Sosa but slept inside the 밀실.

So when this person was about to enter the 밀실, stones came flying at the entrance to the 밀실. Stones.

Fist-sized stones came flying, would this person be hit by those stones?

They weren't hit, so they're alive like this now, aren't they?

They tried to kill this person in every possible way every day, but if this person were to tell 해와이긴자 about this, it would mean being defeated by a 'weak 마귀', and 'weak 마귀' means being afraid. That's what it means.

So even if such things happen, one must not be afraid.

If you are afraid, it means you have been defeated by a weak 마귀, and then that is committing a 죽을 죄. Do you understand?

So even if stones came flying, even if stones kept flying for a week, this person did not speak...

The 마귀s were trying to kill this person, weren't they?

However, without being afraid in the least, every evening, they would follow this person's car; at that time, a driver named Han was driving, ask driver Han. Those who are new.

That driver Han, driving the car this person was in, went into this alley in Sosa, then that alley, and to shake off the car following them, they went into this alley and that alley.

Then suddenly, "Stop here!"

"I will get off here, and you slowly drive away!" he said, and then he got out of the car in the middle and started running."

In the early days, all sorts of things happened. Do you understand?

As that 마귀 world was overturned, as the 마귀 world was destroyed, would the 마귀 remain still, or would the 마귀 rage?

They would have raged, wouldn't they?

That is why the 백만제단 has been established today. Amidst such circumstances. Do you understand?

Therefore, because it was established by overcoming such deathly perils again and again, truly, this 백만제단 is something into which immense effort has been poured, and this 백만제단 is a more precious 제단 than silver, gold, and treasures, isn't it? Right? Isn't that so?
