One Month in a Cave After Escaping a Firing Squad Execution
The hymn that says, "I don't know tomorrow's matters.""
During the month he was in Pyongyang Sinyang-ri Prison, he sang this hymn every day.
Why? Because it was a fate where he didn't know when he would die.
After a month, they called the man out and shot him.
Bang bang, they fired two shots.
However, the bullets did not hit the man's body, but hit his collar.
So, because the man had fainted and lost consciousness, the People's Army soldiers, thinking he was dead, thinking the man was a dead body, threw him onto a pile of corpses.
So, there were two corpses on top of the man.
So, those corpses were the bodies of people who had died from bullet wounds.
So, the blood flowing from the dead people's bodies must have gotten on the man's clothes.
So, the man's clothes were covered in blood.
Wearing such clothes, the man went from the hill behind Seopo towards a place where electric lights were twinkling.
When he went and looked, a young lady was doing the dishes in the kitchen.
So, he opened the door and went in, saying, "Please save me."
So, the young lady was startled and surprised, asking what kind of blood that was.
So, I hadn't seen it either because it was dark, but when I looked in the light, bright red blood was heavily smeared on my clothes.
So, the man spoke.
"I was just executed by firing squad on that hill behind Seopo, but 하나님 made the bullets miss me, and I came back alive.""
"So, please hide me.""
The maiden said, "My second elder brother is a communist; he is a person who serves Kim Il-sung under Kim Il-sung."
"That elder brother will be coming in soon," she said."
So, the man said, if that communist elder brother comes in and sees him, will he shoot him and kill him, or save him?
He'd kill him, right?
So, he said, "Please hide me quickly."
When he asked to be hidden, she said, "Don't worry. It's not time for him to come in yet," and "You should eat dinner," and what she gave him as dinner were two pieces of sweet potato.
She put out two pieces of sweet potato and told him to eat.
So, the man tried to eat the sweet potato, but would the sweet potato go into his mouth?
As he was a body that had just been executed by firing squad and barely came out alive, would he be afraid of being executed again, or not afraid?
Would the man become a coward and be afraid?
In such a reality, anyone would tremble.
So, although the man asked to be hidden quickly, this young lady said that it wasn't time for her second elder brother to come in yet, and that he should eat dinner, and what she put out were two pieces of sweet potato.
So, although she put out two pieces of sweet potato, because I couldn't eat, I put them back.
"I absolutely cannot eat.""
"Put yourself in my shoes.""
"I am a person who has just been executed by firing squad and came here.""
"But, would this sweet potato go down?" he asked."
The young lady said, "Oh, that's right," and went ahead, standing in front.
When he followed, on the other side of the yard, there were many kochia scoparia trees.
Among them, she pulled the largest kochia scoparia tree.
So, that was a cave entrance.
So, telling him to open the cave entrance and go in, she said, "If you go inside here, bedding is spread out, there is a desk, a lamp is lit, and there is a chamber pot."
She said, "I will cook rice every evening and put bento rice in for you, so eat the bento rice and stay there."
So, when he asked if her younger elder brother knew about this cave, she said he didn't know.
She said it was a cave dug by her elder brother without the younger elder brother knowing.
So, the elder brother was an anti-communist, and the second elder brother was a communist.
So, the man went into the cave, and whenever it was 12 AM, she would put in two bowls of bento.
When she put in two bowls of bento, he would eat one first, and the other one he would eat around evening.
Meanwhile, while the man lived in the cave for a month, how much anxiety must he have lived with?
If the communists came, opened the door, and found me, they would immediately shoot and kill me, so would he be anxious, or not anxious?
He would be anxious, right?
So, could the man not sing this hymn?
He couldn't not sing it, right?
With such feelings, not knowing if the communists would come today or tomorrow, he sang this hymn in the cave.
He sang it in prison, but he also sang it in the cave.
Shall we all sing it once more?
