Maitreya Buddha (彌勒佛) refers to the Buddha who is said in Buddhism to come in the future. Here, the future means the future from the perspective of Shakyamuni Buddha, signifying the time when the Udumbara flower blooms, and it is said that the Udumbara flower blooms once every 3,000 years. Care should be taken not to confuse it with another deity called 'Mitra'.
The Maitreya who appears in the present world is called '
