생미륵불
생미륵불 (生彌勒佛) means 'living 미륵불,' referring to a being who has manifested and is active in this present age, the 미륵불 who was known to appear in a future age from the perspective of 석가모니's time and save sentient beings.
While the general 미륵불 ideology speaks of an advent in the distant future, 생미륵불 is connected to the belief that they will appear directly in this present world, bestow enlightenment and salvation upon sentient beings, and open a new world. Specifically, in prophetic books like 『격암유록』 and throughout the Buddhist scriptures, it is mentioned as a term referring to the savior, a being who brings the nectar of immortality (甘露水).

일반적인 미륵불 사상이 먼 미래의 도래를 이야기한다면, 생미륵불은 현세에 직접 나타나 중생에게 깨달음과 구원을 베풀고 새로운 세상을 열어줄 것이라는 믿음과 연결됩니다. 특히 『격암유록』 같은 예언서나 불경의 전권에 구원자를 지칭하는 용어로써, 감로수(甘露水)를 가져오는 존재로 언급되어 있습니다.
